How Delicious.com collects, uses, and protects your information — in plain language.
Last updated: June 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how [Your Legal Business Name] ("Delicious", "we", "us") handles personal information when you use Delicious.com and our apps (the "Service"). We are based in Alberta, Canada, and we handle personal information in line with Canada's PIPEDA and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, and — where they apply to you — the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you create an account we collect your name and email address, and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password in readable form). If you subscribe, your payment is handled by PayPal; we receive confirmation and limited billing details but we do not collect or store your full card number.
How you use the Service. We store your meal preferences and dietary choices, the menus generated for you, your saved favorites, your recipe ratings ("Made it" / "Not for me"), your notification settings, and questions you send to the Sous-Chef. This lets us personalize your menus and improve suggestions over time.
Technical information. Like most websites, our servers automatically log information such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps, for security, troubleshooting, and analytics.
2. Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and local browser storage to keep you logged in and to remember your session. We do not use them to track you across other websites. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but some features may not work without them.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to: operate and secure the Service; create and personalize your daily menus, grocery lists, and recommendations; process subscriptions and payments; send you account and service messages, and — only if you opt in — daily menu emails and product news; respond to your requests; understand and improve how the Service is used; and meet legal obligations. Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, your consent (for marketing emails, which you can withdraw anytime), and our legitimate interests in running and improving the Service.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service, under agreements that limit their use of it:
- PayPal — to process subscription payments.
- AI providers (for example, the recipe and Sous-Chef engine, and the food-image generator) — to produce recipes, answers, and images. We send the information needed to generate a response, such as your preferences or a Sous-Chef question; we do not send your name, email, or payment details for this purpose.
- A nutrition data provider — to estimate calories and macros from recipe ingredients (ingredient lists only, not your identity).
- Email delivery — our hosting mail service, to send the emails described above.
- Hosting and infrastructure — to store data and run the Service.
Grocery and delivery sourcing links take you to third-party sites (such as Instacart, Amazon, Walmart, or Kroger). Once you leave our Service, those sites' own privacy policies apply. We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or sale.
5. International transfers
Some of our service providers process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected consistent with this Policy and applicable law.
6. How long we keep information
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Generated daily menus are pruned automatically after a rolling period (about 60 days). When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we must keep certain records (for example, billing records) to meet legal obligations.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update your details and notification preferences in your account, unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any such email, and request deletion of your account at any time. To exercise any right, contact us at [email protected]; we will respond as required by law. If you are in the EU/UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority; in Canada, with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including password hashing, access controls, and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and to notify you and authorities of significant breaches as required by law.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
11. Contact us
