This is a little web page that tells you how to use Acer's eRecovery for reinstalling Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire 1410. The executive summary is while Windows is starting up, hold down the ALT key and keep pressing F10 over and over again. Eventually Windows will boot into "Acer eRecovery Management" that lets you completely wipe the drive and restore to factory default. You also have an option to reinstall windows while preserving your data. Clearly this will not work if you can't boot into Windows at all, however.TAGS

If I want to reinstall Windows 7 on my Acer laptop, I'd need to follow this link, click on the "eRecovery CD Purchase" link. A screen then appears asking for your "SNID", which is on the bottom of the computer. You type this in, and it tells you that it will be $20, including shipping.TAGS
