Madison Index SAVE
PEOPLE
"I've known Madison since 1990. Over the two or three years I spent time with her, I saw her abuse her self-endowed religious authority. She certainly used many tactics cults traditionally use, to steal people's lives away and give near-absolute control to their beloved leader. Likewise, some former members have had to spend some time in recovery. Madison did a real number on them. Since then, she's created a new organization, tried to whitewash her image, conceal her past, harass critics into silence, and recruit people via the Internet and her mailing list. Please don't let what she did, occur again to you or yours. Spread the word, and network. "TAGS

A List Apart: Articles: Burnout SAVE
PEOPLE
'Web professionals are often expected to be “always on”—always working, absorbing information, and honing new skills. Unless our work and personal lives are carefully balanced, however, the physical and mental effects of an "always on" life can be debilitating.'TAGS

ebonypearl: Trust SAVE
'See, people who have their trust betrayed often give trust based upon their personal trustworthiness. Their reasoning is “I would never do such-and-such, therefore my True Love/Best Friend/Co-Worker would never do such-and-such.” The truth is that the other person isn’t you and if you are trusting them to behave as you would, your trust will be betrayed – and they won’t necessarily have done anything wrong. When you trust someone else, you need to be able to predict their actions and understand their patterns of behavior, and base your trust on them, not you.'TAGS
