Google Flu Trends SAVE
PEOPLE
Amazingly cool project from Google.org - "We've found that certain search terms are good indicators of flu activity. Google Flu Trends uses aggregated Google search data to estimate flu activity in your state up to two weeks faster than traditional systems." I once heard that Walmart's supply chain system could also be used to accuratly predict and locate colds and flu based on the sales of paracetamol and common cold medicines. Perhaps a geo-demographic map of sales of small, blue diamond shaped pills in Florida would be equally compelling?TAGS
