Big companies know that children's media can do more than just entertain and kids know best when it comes to deciding what's fun and what isn't. Teachers and parents can offer digital media tools to give kids an outlet for personal expression and at it's best a personal learning experience. Digital projects offers kids of all ages the chance to express themselves creatively. As kids learn more about how media is put together, they understand media as a tool leading to media literacy. Kids can learn about how news, commercials and social documentaries work "from the inside-out". Meanwhile project-based learning is a valuable assessment tool so technology educators get engaged kids and important grading data.

Over the past school year, we've heard many stories about budget cuts negatively impacting access to Professional Development opportunities for teachers across the country. In the absence of effective Professional Development, many tech savvy educators have stepped up to fill the void and provide PD advice and opportunities to new and veteran teachers alike through social media.
